The International Conference on Contaminated Land Management and Rehabilitation

Organized for the first time in Portugal, the International Conference on Contaminated Land Management and Rehabilitation (CIGRAC 2020⁺¹) is a shared organization between the Association for the Study of Contaminated Soil and Groundwater (AECSAS - Associação Técnica para o Estudo de Contaminação de Solo e Água Subterrânea), the Portuguese National Laboratory for Civil Engineering (LNEC – Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil) and the Portuguese Geological and Mining Chartered Engineers Association (Colégio de Engenharia Geológica e de Minas / Ordem dos Engenheiros), which will take place in Lisbon.
CIGRAC 2020⁺¹ aims to be a privileged space for the dissemination of practical and scientific knowledge, the exchange of ideas and best practices in the sustainable management of contaminated areas (brownfields) approaching topics ranging from contaminated site investigation and assessment, to risk analysis to human health and the environment, treatment and remediation technologies for site rehabilitation and reuse legal aspects, and environmental and safety liability.
CIGRAC will also be a meeting point for service providers in the field of diagnosis, risk assessment and decontamination management, industrial and academic researchers, regulators, lawyers, real estate developers, representatives of potentially polluting industries, insurers and all who participate in the vast market of brownfield rehabilitation.
In addition, short courses will be held on some of the most relevant topics, such as: high resolution diagnostic techniques, emerging contaminants, risk assessment, legal aspects, vapor intrusion, etc.
